It was difficult enough to keep the car on the road let alone do it with any sort of pace. So before I started my career I did a Quick Play on one of the Sweden stages just to see how I'd fair.my God did I suck. I thought that wasn't too bad, since I want career mode to be hard enough that I am mostly in the mid pack, and if I really nail a stage I'd get in a podium spot. Gold was seconds out of my reach, I got a few silvers but mostly Bronze. I played around in the training area last night mostly. Maybe Authentic difficulty is a bit of a stretch. I'm really glad I took a gamble on this game. The simulation feels more demanding, but some of the stage designs are unforgiving. I feel like such a badass on them in WRC 8, but the loose surface locations are so difficult.

I used to be awful at tarmac stages in Dirt Rally. Holy hell though, it really is a wakeup call compared to that game. I much prefer this and having a ton of rally locations to just having a **** load of cars and only a handful of locations in Dirt Rally. I like how the calendar system gives you things to do between rallies. I really like that it focuses on just the WRC series, the simulation and management aspects are really detailed. I knew the previous WRC games have had a not great reputation but I read really good things about this one and oh man. I've been in the mood for a new rally game lately, I've played quite a lot of Dirt Rally, and 2.0 hasn't really piqued my interest since it seems more focused on having a lot of cars rather than a lot of tracks. I'm going to need a lot of hours to get used to the driving and to git gud. I can't wait to dive in later tonight and really put some work in. Really the only thing I can see when driving is what is directly outside my windshield. When driving IRL, my wheel, dash, rearview, side mirrors etc are all just blurry unfocused things in my peripherals.

I just thought, maybe I can map it to the DFGT sequential shifter! That would be great.ĭash cam is the best! I wish every racing game had one.
#Wrc 8 game release date Ps4
I use 'O' button on PS4 wheel but once I get used to it it should be fine. The E-Brake is also great, pretty easy to use. I also set wheel rotation to 240 because I like minimal movement on it, rotating the wheel past 90 deg in either direction isn't ideal for me and the small shifter buttons on the DFGT make it very difficult to shift while turning. In fact, WRC8 was so stiff I turned everything down to 25 and it is still very stiff. The wheel feels great, I love the stiffer feeling as oppose to the "flick, limp, grab" feeling I get from PCars2 and AC, and there is the absence of the constant rattling I get in those games which is a bonus. Got my first taste of the beautiful dynamic weather when my session went from clear to a light rain to match the current weather I had to drive back to work in Then I did a few loops around a tarmac section of the test area until my car fell apart. I spent most my 30 min session messing about with wheel and camera settings. First impressions are great! I did a quick run around the test area just driving too fast and flying of the road.
